Plymbridge, Plymouth, Devon

Plenty of signage on a single post giving directions to walkers 🚶🏻‍♂️, cyclists 🚴‍♀️ , fishermen 🎣, car drivers 🚗 & dogs 🐕 (😉).

Another view of this viaduct in #Plymbridge. This time with a glimpse of the old #Brunel structure (1859) behind the arch of the more recent 1893 railway line - no longer in use #photography #architecture #BlueSkyArt

An 18th Century bridge, but on earlier piers.

The River Plym is quite brown & peaty at this point reflecting the fact it has drained from Southern #Dartmoor.

The lovely Plymbridge woods near Plymouth. During the spring, during the breeding season, Peregrine falcons can be seen nesting on the quarry face.

7KM run at Plymbridge this evening. Felt pretty good. Had to push my friend a little but she coped. It was pleasant, all things considered. Stopped off in the Prince Maurice on the way home for a pint. #running #plymouth #nationaltrust

Portevinia maculata (Ramsons Hoverfly).

Normally see these in May, but there were a couple of males on Wild Garlic in Plymbridge Woods, near Plymouth, last week.

Plymbridge woods, near the viaduct (and elsewhere), were sites and Shaugh Prior until the mid 80s. All shaded out through neglect. Yet if the conditions are right it booms.

A soggy and windy walk out at Plymbridge this morning. Can’t wait to get to HP in a bit. Smash the hatters. #pafc

Dropped the camper off for fixing and went cycling to find some nature. Sadly all I found along the River Plym and through @nationaltrust.bsky.social Plymbridge Woods was woodlands being overrun with invasive cherry laurel. Out-competing native species and spreading along tracks and rivers.
