Excellent! I had shingles, covid, flu and pneumovax all at the same time last year. No ill-effects at all. 2nd shingles vax no issues either. Will get Covid and flu shot as soon as available this fall. Foolish to skip any vaccinations.

Wow - this also kind of helps which Pneumococcal Vaccine works better!
Pneumovax (for men)
Prevnar ( for women)
But we use both!

Depending on your age, look into:
RSV and pneumococcal (Pneumovax) vaccines

Oh mine is awful. I never got added to the flu list when I got diagnosed with asthma, COVID I get through the pharmacy (Dhaval is amazing, big up community pharmacists 🙌), I had to ask them about Pneumovax as no-one ever mentioned it to me after I started immune-suppressants

Boosters for other things, too. TDap. Should also get a pneumovax.

Le pneumovax a-t-il encore des indications ?

FYI: Adults 50 & Older/High-Risk
1 Dose: If you receive Prevnar 20 it is a 1-time, lifelong dose and no booster is needed.
2-Step Option: If your doctor uses a different conjugate shot like PCV15 first, it is followed by 2nd type Pneumovax 23 a year later completing the series. Get your shot!!
Pneumonia is quiet and often deadly in older adults.

Diane Keaton died of pneumonia

Sam Neil died of pneumonia

They claim Mitch McConnell fell and contracted pneumonia. A combination of a fall and pneumonia is basically a death sentence for someone his age.

Four COVID and got my pneumovax before Trump took office because I knew they would fuck with things.

No symptoms, but my 5g reception is much better.

Do you know which pneumococcal vaccine you are supposed to get? And which vaccines are in the pipeline?
What’s the Difference Between Vaxneuvance, Prevnar 20, Capvaxive, and Pneumovax 23?

My B cells aren't class switching, and I have NO plasmablasts. I had only a 50% response to pneumovax. Don't get C*VID kids

For people with kids around Melbourne looking for the covid vaccine thunder boy just got his at the RCH immunisation clinic.

(And a pneumovax at the same time, while he was in for an ultrasound)

Generally pneumovax you can have 2 or 3 in life, then diminished effects. It provides long-lasting effects, so you can easily get 30 to 40 years of coverage.

Just curious, did your doctor say anything about how often you should get a Prevnar or Pneumovax? Mine said every 5 years but it could be because I have some lung issues.
May 28, 2026 at 8:30 PM
I don't have access to Pneumovax 23. I received Prevnar 13 years ago, and now I'm eligible for Prevnar 20. I'm going to get it done today.
May 28, 2026 at 3:19 PM
The pneumovax 23 was probably the best vaccine I've ever had.

For those of you who know me, that's the biggest endorsement I can provide.
Pneumococcal pneumonia is vaccine-preventable

If you're over 50, or younger than 50 and have risk factors like COPD, asthma, diabetes, kidney or liver disease, or if you smoke, like Kyle Busch, get the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine. Available at most pharmacies and covered by most insurance plans

If you received the newest vaccines (PCV20 or PCV 21), you’re done

If you got Pneumovax (PPSV23), you should also get PCV20 or PCV21 a year or so later

Kyle Busch (41yo) died of sepsis following pneumonia

ask your doctor about vaccine options like prevnar and pneumovax

Me too! RSV, pneumovax, shingles, flu, DPT, COVID and anything else that's available.
May 21, 2026 at 2:41 PM
*Pneumovax 23* (23vPPV) is a vaccine that protects against 23 types of pneumococcal bacteria, which cause serious illnesses like pneumonia, meningitis, and bloodstream infections. It is given as a single injection to adults, teenagers, and children over 2 years of age who are at high risk.

My bad…on Jan 6th I had gotten the shingles vaccine and pneumovax the day before, so I was feeling like I had the flu.

Perfect example of the problem with Healthcare
In the U.S. Had to change Dr. due to Insurance and saw a participating General Practice Dr. for a 30 minute visit & Pneumovax. They billed insurance $1,471!! Healthcare reform is a necessity. Costs are passed to patients via the premiums we pay! 🤮🤬😭
