"Use your voice sparingly but effectively" is workplace leadership advice that does not at all translate to media politics.

Last week, I successfully defended my PhD in Politics at the University of Oxford.

My dissertation explores how politics permeates the modern workplace, shaping collaboration, corporate communications, and civic engagement.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have settled her workplace sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit two weeks before it was set to go to trial. I’m relieved we don’t have to do Depp v. Heard again and I’m glad that her suit exposed a Hollywood smear machine that also influences politics and beyond.

My hot take is that regarding Congress like it's analogous to some normal workplace with colleagues who are all ultimately on the same team is exactly the thing everybody is disgusted by, because politics and policy are real to them, because they are not smug cloistered fucking nitwits.
My hot take is that Lindsey Graham did many contemptible things but if you’re furious that his Senate Democratic colleagues are posting nice things about him today you need to put down your phone, get some fresh air, and remember a time when a colleague you disliked departed this mortal coil.

every so often I have to get tangentially involved in workplace politics and it's absolute hell on earth

people who actually enjoy it are deeply broken individuals, I would rather do literally anything else

Consider: My trans journalism was well within the mainstream consensus 10 years ago. I covered niche science and medical questions, sometimes a bit of culture or workplace stuff.

The politics came for me. I stayed with my community and the truth rather than moving with the crowd.

Bring a greasy, highly controversial scumbag politician to a workplace, expect politics.
That worker was well within his rights to express the truth.

Imagine asking whether women ruined the workplace while our nation is being run into the ground by some of the most unqualified, toxic, mediocre men in politics.

wondering what a lot of people on here think organizing is. it involves reaching out to people who don’t automatically share yr politics but have common concerns. workplace exploitation, cost of rent, healthcare … those are all broad places to start

Workplace sexual harassment victims frequently quit or are forced out of their jobs; consequently, they’re pushed out of entire industries. In male-dominated industries like politics, this reifies male dominance.
