Ireland & Council of the EU are pushing the 'Omnibus' proposal that will increase pesticide risks to the public and nature.
Scientists have been ringing the alarm but the politicians pushing it —Fine Gael (EPP) and Fianna Fáil (Renew)—would rather listen to chemicals & agri-food industry lobbyists.

Uppvärmningen går 4 ggr snabbare i Arktis än det globala genomsnittet.
Nu finns tecken på att insekter och växternas blomning inte längre synkar. Pollineringen bärs upp av en handfull flugor, varav vissa minskar lokalt.

Butterfly's "Synthesis report human dimensions of pollinator decline and restoration" is out!

Find out what the 18 facets of pollinator-human relations are that were identified in the Multi Language review across the 13 languages of Butterfly's consortium.

Through our multi-language review, we found many hopeful narratives, especially in the areas mentioned above. We found stories and experiences from farmers switching from conventional to organic farming (e.g., Telling, 2011; Lemvig, 2020), municipalities becoming pesticide-free (Boesen, 2025), mutual benefits for pollinators and humans of pollinator gardens (Batemen, 2023) and stories of kinship (Lindholm, 2023). Concepts building on multispecies ethnography such as ‘playful work’ (Ellis, 2022), multispecies kinship (Meloni, 2019) and multi-species urban spaces (Pettenati, 2023), as well as indigenous cultures and knowledge, can inspire and show that a care relationship is possible. Generally, this deliverable itself should be seen as part of slow hope, as it presents hopeful narratives about the various ways humans relate to pollinators, become ecologically aware, and act as individuals or communities to restore them. It will influence and inspire the other Butterfly work packages with its results, form a basis for new research and motivate citizens and policymakers to take action.
