Happy #PollinatorWeek! 🐝 Each year, our scientists scout the Danforth Center prairie to track which pollinators are visiting & which plants are attracting them. This blog dives into what they found & highlights some pollinator favorites that you can add to your own garden: https://loom.ly/ZfTNki0
What’s the Buzz? Tracking Pollinators and Their Favorite Plants in the Danforth Center Prairie - Danforth Plant Science Center
Pollinator Week invites us to appreciate the often-overlooked heroes that support Earth’s ecosystems and many of the agricultural systems that feed us. At the Danforth Center, we share our space with these essential insects every day; just outside our laboratories and greenhouses, our six-acre swath of reconstructed prairie is teeming with pollinators.

Pollinator week! A time to celebrate the pollinators that help support human ecosystems. They include bats, birds, and bugs found among the many and various plants out there. #honeybee #pollinators #pollinatorweek

It's #PollinatorWeek 🐝💛 Pollinator Week is an annual celebration in support of pollinator health and here at Dix Park we love our pollinators! Near the sunflower field, you might notice the Apiary and Pollinator Hotel, public art pieces for both people and pollinators! 🧵

Good morning, more for #PollinatorWeek. The large, orange guy is a Julia Heliconian. The smaller, brown one is a scallopwing skipper.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, friends.

Happy #pollinatorweek! I am sharing an older painting of a red admiral butterfly and lilacs. Butterflies, birds and other insects such as wasps etc can be pollinators, not just bees. Take a walk and see how many pollinators you can find! #kidlit #illustration #art #nature

It only takes one person & a little bit of space to help a whole lot of bugs. But that impact is amplified by every other piece of habitat nearby! And there are bigger challenges out there that need a team effort.

Habitat with pesticides isn't safe for pollinators! There's a lot you can do to help, like getting used to some nibbled leaves, removing weeds by hand, & buying pesticide-free plants.

To keep pollinators coming back year after year, they need places to take shelter & raise their offspring: bare soil, plant stems, brush piles, and fallen leaves!
