My polytunnel had paid for itself within a couple of years. Organic vegetables aren’t cheap, unless you’re growing them from seed.

Walked through the allotment the other day to see how the dahlias were doing in the polytunnel. I thought they might have gone over by now, but no, they're still alive and blooming.
Perhaps another visit in a week or so to get the end of season shots as they fade away!

what is a polytunnel?
If I was totally living on Skye that huge garden and field would be so much different.
There would be three additional structures.
A leanto structure containing a laundry room.
An RHouse Bothy for guests.
A shed for all the outdoor stuff.
Also raised beds for vegetables etc.
Maybe even a polytunnel!

In February, sister #2 and I erected her polytunnel in driving rain. This weekend she gave me 5kg of mixed fruit and vegetables, for her an unwanted surplus. Think it was worth getting soaked for.

From soft, sun-blushed orange to deep fiery crimson, these vines are showing off every stage of ripe. There’s really nothing quite like harvesting warmth straight off the vine.

I'd avoid anyway. I can make a place warmer, put solars on it, insulate it, paint the kitchen, build a polytunnel... but I can't stop water or noise, so I wouldn't consider it.
Out of interest... hmm, looks a bit wet, doesn't it? And UK winters are only going to get wetter.
