The wealthy telling us that AI data centers are good for you, should be a red flag, buying off households with the promise of a one time payout in poorer rural areas is their new strategy. Why can’t neighborhoods have all that good stuff McCormick mentions without bribes and data centers?

Basically, The Algorithm drives more and more posting of a certain type of kayfabe such that the collective suspension of disbelief breaks down under its own weight and the internet is poorer for it.

I've just seen diesel at £2.05 a litre. That's hideous. Remember, every delivery to your supermarket arrives by a lorry fuelled by diesel. That means prices are going up. You are getting poorer.
Who is at fault for that?

The USA does not have a state pension but Social Security which is dependent on how much you have been employed and how much you were paid. This leads so the poorest being even poorer in their old age. People who can not afford to pay current bills certainly cannot afford to save for retirement.

Will it ever go up by less than the rate of inflation thereby making pensioners poorer? No.
