A return visit to some different areas of Bedford Purlieus todaywhere I found this wonderful golden fungus growing on a rotting poplar trunk in the stream valley. I'm thinking Butter Scalycap Pholiota tuberculosa - am I anywhere close?

A return visit to some different areas of Bedford Purlieus todaywhere I found this wonderful golden fungus growing on a rotting poplar trunk in the stream valley. I'm thinking Butter Scalycap Pholiota tuberculosa - am I anywhere close?

The rest of the poplar set isn't all that interesting, being mostly recolours of existing wood textures in the pack.
The poplar logs look sufficiently Mario-y. I wasn't able to find any possible references to anything specific.

Almost 2 yrs later, the field remains unfarmable. Drought got rid of the water & Lapwings, but now totally covered in 1m tall poplar saplings. It's high grade arable peaty-loam, a drained marsh, lowland Oxfordshire. But climate whiplash has now made it impractical to farm.
