I've started thinking of the current era as one defined by epistemic collapse (dissolution of shared reality), so I'm going to start referring to the current cultural environment as "postreality" (by analogy with postmodernism).

I don't necessarily think that postreality is bad, in the way that I don't think postmodernism was bad. It's not a thing to frame as good or bad. It's more like an articulation of cultural relativism, taken to its logical conclusion, but also shored up against walls of epistemic arrogance.
