Mum's birthday tomorrow. She has #PCA, a #RareDementia and can no longer read and write. As a result, we have big, brightly-coloured recordable buttons.

One for where I am, one to read the online diary, and now one that says, "You're 87, dear!"

Mum can't read and write any more, or recognise faces, or recognise objects. Put a cup of tea in front of her and she's oblivious to it until its pointed out.

#PosteriorCorticalAtrophy or #PCA is rare and often takes ages to diagnose. This is a short BBC case study
