I was going to quibble about the punk label myself but figured I’d be called a Bluesky Scold.
She came from a New York scene very different from punk. More melodic and elaborate. Almost operatic. Both styles relied on powerchords and unleashed anger, but very different in construction and tone.

Well, I want them pointy and playing fast powerchords (eg. 200bpm gallops) wears the tip down really fast... like if you do this nonstop for a few hours, you can basically wear a pick down in a day.
I play pretty light on the fretting hand though.
