My city (if the word will stretch so far) was one of those. But it was already clear that there would be no more groundbreakings. Now we get to watch the half-built data centers, non-grid-connected powerplants, gas pipelines, etc. turn into white elephants.

A lot of these gas turbines used in powerplants actually recuperate the hot exhaust to generate steam, either for process heat or for powering a steam turbines to generate more electric power. But these stripped aircraft turbines probably only turn a generator and the waste heat goes elsewhere.
