The other problem, frankly, is the potential that loyalist violence may well ramp up without powersharing institutions. It's not a particularly moral line to have to take, admittedly, but reducing the use of violence for political ends is ultimately why there are powersharing institutions at all

The Minnesota Reformer writes there's plenty of talk that state House Speaker Lisa Demuth will enter the GOP primary to challenge Gov. Tim Walz, potentially as early as next week. Demuth became speaker this year as a result of a powersharing agreement in evenly-divided state House.

"Powersharing agreement" is a neutral term and does not need to refer to the actual Good Friday Agreement. That's not how words work.

So the DUP realising their support was collapsing has effectively ended powersharing in NI with the push to force sectarian parades again.
Its 2026 lads, time Stormont was reformed to a normal democracy and then let's see how many of NI want a return to this pish

I've said a few times now that the gameplan of Fascism 2.0 looks to me like overt fascist cuntery powersharing with neoliberal "moderates", alternating control for the greater stability of a kayfabe democracy. This looks awfully consistent with that.
Dan’s summary of what these people said is accurate, and I have no doubt this is more or less what is being said behind the scenes. The urgent priority is never what’s best for everyone: it is always “how can we keep this shitshow on the road while conceding as little as possible”.
