#colonialism
It's colonialism. They have colonized knowledge. I hate it.
when artists said this in 2022 they were laughing at us, so 🤷‍♀️

(but realtalk, I'm glad more people are waking up to it now)

Avatar? The show about how genocide, ethnonationalism, and colonialism are unimaginably destructive and make otherwise decent people into monsters?

Happy Native American Heritage Month, relatives. Today, I want to kick off this month by talking about accountability. After the year we’ve had, nobody gets to pretend colonialism is just a history lesson.

I spent years documenting my argument that the broligarchs and their offshore financial projects were an effort to re-establish colonialism, then this Thiel associate just comes out and says it.

Israeli bulldozers are “terraforming” the landscape to erase all traces of Palestinian life. With thousands of bodies still unrecovered from under destroyed buildings, Israel’s flattening, extraction and reshaping of the rubble in Gaza is a continuation of its crimes, says Weizman.

As a blue eyed white man who rules a country so large it controls 1/3 of the Asian landmass from a city in europe, I like Africans who beleive that Russia got that way without colonialism cos colonising without boats isn't colonising.

Ukriane's imperialist war of defense is just more proof.
You all have Russiafobia.
Why not UK hate?

So how do you propose russian colonialism be opposed?

the (post-)soviet system--colonialism in one country
the Imperial core of Moscow/St Petersburg taking up the lions share of revenue generated by the periphery. Russia really is a contrast between two visions: that prosperous inner core and then the far more impoverished and run down 'provinces.'

Sugar + conquest + colonialism? Of course!
New on Snack Stack: A brief history of a sculptural candy that goes back more than 1,000 years and tells multiple stories of conquest and colonialism.

(This was meant as a bonus post for paid subscribers but I accidentally sent it to anyone so I'm leaving it public 🤷‍♂️)

If you're against israel's colonialism you should be against russia's. If you're not you're a hypocrite

And this doesn't count their colonialism in Africa
The russian Federation is an empire across 11 time zones, ruled ruthlessly from one city that drains oil from Siberia, diamonds from Yakutia and soldiers from Buryatia. Calling it a nation with security interests misreads the ruscist federation completely.

You do not, in fact, gotta hand it to French colonialism, but the combination of French patisserie and tropical fruits is an all time banger

Whatabout whatabout... it's possible to dislike colonialism in general. Just make sure you include russia in that list.

We still deal with it. Its called colonialism now though. 🪶

What did english people eat before colonialism? All the good shit they got from south asia or the new world.
October 30, 2026 at 3:19 PM
thought, "Well, tyranny is bad, but our colonialism is just classic British charm.

Pip pip, let’s keep exploiting the Global South."

The post-war playbook became a masterclass in irony.

Colonialism becomes liberation when you replace the Spanish, British, French, American, etc., flags with a Russian one. It's all about colors, you know.

The thing about fantasies of unlimited violence against slavers and their supporters is this was actually tried elsewhere & it pretty quickly turned into 100% pure colonialism.

Hell, it was one of the most common excuses *for* colonialism. We should seek to reduce violence, not kill the wicked.
