Health apps give you numbers. Almost none give you Tuesday. A1c of 6.1 = prediabetes range, and the highest-return fix is usually a 10-min walk after dinner. One number, one action. https://lab.mojowaylife.com

Found out from doc I’ve developed some insulin resistance and I have high cholesterol. Time to lose weight and eat healthier before I develop prediabetes and get a heart attack.

Yay aging.

"I feel fine" doesn't mean your body isn't sending quiet signals.

Hypertension, high cholesterol, and prediabetes rarely have early symptoms. Routine vitals and blood panels detect imbalances before they become chronic issues.

(CMAJ) Excellent modelling study to implement the successful NHS #diabetes #prevention program in Canada. IMO, this would absolutely contribute to #nationbuilding under the 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘥𝘢 𝘈𝘤𝘵. Imagine a population with controlled diabetes! #MajorProjectsOffice

Cost-effectiveness of implementing the National Health Service England Diabetes Prevention Programme in Canada: a modelling study
The National Health Service (NHS) England’s Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP) is a cost-effective, publicly funded program of structured dietary and physical activity counselling that has been shown to reduce the incidence of progression from prediabetes to type 2 diabetes. We sought to examine the cost-effectiveness of implementing an NHS England–style DPP in Quebec and Ontario. Methods:We compared usual care for people with prediabetes with a DPP using a cohort-state transition Markov model of 4 mutually exclusive health states (normal glucose tolerance, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, and death) over a 35-year time horizon, run separately for Quebec and Ontario. We sourced transition probabilities, costs, and utilities from Canadian sources, the NHS England DPP, and published literature. We modelled the reduction in progression from prediabetes to type 2 diabetes using effectiveness data from the first 3 years of follow-up from the NHS England DPP. We adopted a health care system perspective and used a 1.5% annual discount rate. We presented costs in 2025 Canadian dollars and effectiveness in quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs). We generated base-case results using probabilistic analysis with 10 000 simulations. Results:The mean total costs of the DPP strategy were $101 833 per participant in Quebec and $101 835 in Ontario, compared with $102 077 for usual care, yielding incremental cost savings of $244 per participant in Quebec and $242 in Ontario. The 95% uncertainty range (UR) for incremental costs was −$1017 to $405 in Quebec and −$1016 to $408 in Ontario. The DPP generated a mean gain of 0.060 QALYs per participant (95% UR 0.024 to 0.094). It was less costly and more effective than usual care in 74.8% of simulations in Quebec and 74.7% in Ontario. Sensitivity analyses confirmed robustness to parameter uncertainty.Interpretation:An NHS England–style DPP would be cost-effective in Ontario and Quebec. Our findings support the potential value of investing in DPPs in Canada and highlight an opportunity to reduce the burden of type 2 diabetes.

So looked into Ro for getting back on a GLP-1 and get this message. Which is insane because as of the first of this year, government insurances decided to no longer cover GLP-1s strictly for weight loss or prediabetes (only for diagnosed diabetes or sleep apnea), how does this make any fucking sense

there are so many benefits to working out in such a short amount of time; just 30 minutes of doing concentrated excercises 3 times per week can help grow muscles in those areas, help you sleep, reduce prediabetes/diabetes risk, reduce stress and just make you feel better about your body

6 months ago I was diagnosed with prediabetes and had labs consistent with metabolic syndrome

Since then: down 22 lbs, hour-long walks most days, fewer carbs, more protein, diet changes, Metamucil, & 3 months of metformin (used an adjudicative, which I suggested)

I’m damn happy with the progress.

Prescribed a short steroid course and you have diabetes or prediabetes? Say so before you start. Then ask: How should I check my sugar? What readings or symptoms mean I should call? Do my diabetes medicines need adjusting, and who adjusts them?

You got the prediabetes diagnosis. Then the doctor handed you a leaflet and walked out.

I had some crusty bread that was gonna go to waste but with my tooth is extremely inedible, so I tried to make bread pudding. Problem: prediabetes. So I tried making it with less sugar. I seem to have invented the exact midpoint between bread pudding and an omelette. Disconcerting.
