another good intro is a cheap wifi antenna, sdr dongle, and preamp. just point it straight up and you can see the hydrogen spectrum of the Milky Way

It’s crazy that I’ve had this bass body over 30 years. Thinking about doing a preamp swap, though the Audere JZ3 Pro preamp really accentuates the aggressiveness those DiMarzios nicely.
Part of me wants to stick a Sadowsky preamp in there just to hear what happens😆

I can barely put into words how rare this mic preamp is, only 70 were ever made. It’s hands down one of the best-built preamps out there. I managed to grab the very last unit that was ever put up for sale. SonicDune 1Q73

It was my uncle's - he was handy with motors and electronics but not tubes so he bought it and retrofitted it with an old stereo amplifier and added a preamp. He passed during covid and my aunt asked if I wanted it - of course I did. Really special to me.

Aventuras de luthier: cambio de preamp en una guitarra clásica. Putada: el nuevo preamp es más pequeño. Solución: tallar rudimentariamente una pieza de madera (cogida del fondo de un cuadro) para rellenar el hueco excedente y pegarla con Titebond. Cuando se seque, la intentaré oscurecer y barnizar.
