When you use a heavy cardstock, simply folding it can cause the fibres of the paper to break, resulting in a messy, jagged edge. Using a mechanical scoring process creates a precise indentation (a "score line") in the card, allowing it to be folded cleanly and accurately. Combined with precision machine cutting, these sheets are delivered flat but ready to be snapped into a perfect fold by the customer.
