Trump is prepositioning fascism.
Trump wants the military “utilized to PREVENT crime” — not stop an actual crime. This is about a massive show of force to intimidate people. He wants to normalize a heavy military presence in civilian life where fascism can be implemented with a flip of the switch.
NEW EO 🧵
Within 90 days, the AG and the SecDef, in consultation with the Sec of Homeland Sec and the heads of agencies as appropriate, shall increase the provision of excess military and national security assets in local jurisdictions to assist State and local law enforcement

As dangerous winds are expected to pick up, we’re prepositioning hundreds of firefighting personnel and equipment across SoCal.
This includes deploying 300+ additional firefighters, adding to the 15,000+ already on the ground in LA.

2. If you want to deliver cyber effects, prepositioning matters. You can't just preposition days or even weeks before you need to deliver a capability. Think in many cases on scales of double digit months.

Thread - > will likely have a significant impact on key Five Eyes cyber (prepositioning and active cyber)
Why this matters:
1. While NSA doesn't have to stand down, many service members working *at* NSA work for their individual services, addressing their intelligence priorities. The national mission broadly benefits from this. These members likely must stand down. 1/

Thanks to CAL FIRE, the Forest Service, and Cal OES' prepositioning of resources well before flames erupted, firefighters, including the VCFD, were able to react quicker and more successfully.

really wild to me how little people seem to care that Chinese hackers stole some of Janet Yellen's emails, spied on U.S. telco networks, and are prepositioning to turn off our water systems & other utilities — all the attention is still on TikTok.

You’re an MSS or SVR cyber targeter who’s spent years trying to find an access vector into SPS/PAM; then suddenly a pack of high-profile, right-wing, edgelord zoomers — who will definitely click on any link they think will get them laid — just get admin access. Prepositioning acquisition speedrun.
