(September 14, 2026) – With the packed houses full of flag-waving, wildly enthusiastic crowds that WBC Interim super middleweight champion Lester Martinez has attracted on ProBoxTV broadcasts, Guatemalan boxing fans are quickly becoming known for their nationalistic pride and passionate support for their fighters. And while Martinez will forever hold the distinction as Guatemala’s first boxer to hold any version of a world championship, another fast-rising Guatemalan American is graduating to main event status, with hopes of becoming the country’s second-ever world champion. Chants of “Viva Guatemala!” and "¡Qué viva Guate!" are expected to ring throughout the venue once again, as unbeaten Guatemalan-American…

Both Giovani Santillan and Abass Baraou need a win to revive their championship dreams on the Friday ProBox TV card from Oceanside, California.

No scale fails in Oceanside, California, as Giovani Santillan (35-1, 18 KOs) and Abass Baraou (17-2, 9 KOs) made weight ahead of their junior middleweight main event on Friday night at the Frontwave Arena, live on ProBoxTV. This is a good fight on paper, as both fighters aren’t known for being light on their feet. This is one for hardcore fans, and the winner will likely get a shot at the WBO title in 2027. The oddsmakers have Baraou as the 4-1 favorite, so it’ll be on Santillan to disrupt those odds.

What’s at stake for Giovani Santillan (35-1, 18 KOs) and Abass Baraou (17-2, 9 KOs) when they do battle on Friday night at the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California? What Does Giovani Santillan Have Left?  This might be the $100,000 question. Santillan stopped Alexis Rocha. It looked like a formality for him to win a title, even after a shaky fight with Erick Bone. Then Brian Norman Jr. stopped him. Since then, he has two wins at welterweight, followed by an uninspiring move up to junior middleweight, where he won a way-too-close fight against Courtney Pennington.

Friday, September 11th ProBoxTV, 5:30 pm ET Giovani Santillan vs Abass Baraou From Oceanside, California. Santillan was a reliable guest star on Emanuel Navarrette cards for years, and last fought in support of Baraou’s split decision loss to Xander Zayas back in January. His only pro loss came against Brian Norman in Santillan’s only attempt […]

The super-middleweight division is slowly transitioning into the next phase: life after Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Part of that evolution is a fighter named Lester Martinez (20-0-1, 16 KOs), the interim WBC champion. On Saturday in Los Angeles, California, Martinez faces the undefeated Luka Plantic (13-0, 10 KOs) in the main event of a ProBoxTV show that debuts its new paid subscription. The 30-year-old Martinez from Peten Melchor de Mencos, Guatemala, is a fighter making noise in the division, especially after going blow-for-blow with WBC champion Christian Mbilli over 12 rounds in September, resulting in a split draw.

ProBoxTV has left the palm trees in Tampa, Florida, and arrived at the ones in Los Angeles, California, to host a fight card at the Galen Center while debuting their new $4.99 subscription plan. The main event features interim WBC super-middleweight champion Lester Martinez (20-0-1, 16 KOs) defending his title against Luka Plantic (13-0, 10 KOs) after Martinez was unable to secure a rematch with Christian Mbilli. The 30-year-old Martinez from Guatemala last fought in March, scoring a unanimous decision victory over Immanuwel Aleem. If Martinez comes out victorious, there will be public demand for him to face the winner of Canelo-Mbilli, which takes place on Halloween.

Junior-bantamweight Yusniel “La Maquina” Abrahante says he’s hoping for a career-changing upset over hard-punching Luis Coria of Moreno Valley, California, when they do battle this Saturday, July 18, as part of ProBox Promotions’ marathon 14-fight “Contender Series” event at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California. Abrahante, 7-2 (1 KO), and Coria, 5-0 (5 KOs), will meet in a six-round bout, one of five bonus fights scheduled after the main event and broadcast live exclusively on the ProBoxTV YouTube channel.
