A part I found important in Tom’s story was how his inconsistency at the beginning wasn’t caused by laziness, but by his mindset and processing. When working with future clients, I'll make sure to asses their mental state in addition to their physical health. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

it makes sense to me that a capacity to understand mathematics is an emergent function of the relationships between very granular chunkable concepts, quite similar to how our brains must be processing that stuff
It is my genuine belief that LLMs hit the "can reason about functors, recursion schemes and category theory" point well before they hit the "can do math that has numbers" point. Observing them do the first of these is what convinced me they were worth spending time on.
The assumption that LLMs can’t do arithmetic, or are just memorizing enough patterns to fake it, now seems so clearly false and its one of the coolest LLM results ive seen in a while. Seems clear now theres some subsection of the weights that knows math and can do a lot of it real good

We dont see history or learn it properly, but with modern technology and connectivity, Palestine is hard to ignore for people. Its seeing how the colonnial sausage is made. We see the faces names and voices of the people being harmed while not processing this has been happening for centuries.

I'm sort of torn, because processing 7 episodes in close succession was A LOT compared to the one-at-a-time cadence. I can't imagine 15! But I also think it's rough to sit with just this part of the story right now. I'm leaning toward it would have been better all at once.
