Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes is suing ICE over its $70 million purchase of a warehouse in Surprise, Ariz., alleging the agency conducted "zero research" before acquiring a site situated between two schools. Dysart High, she noted, is 60% Hispanic.

Tonight we filed a FOIA request with ICE for the records behind its Roxbury, NJ about-face. The court filing yesterday said only that officials "reconsidered" — no reason given. The public deserves to know why the government took two contradictory positions before a federal judge in eleven days.

In April, we submitted a FOIA request regarding USCIS’ use of a Palantir system named Vetting of Wedding Based Schemes (VOWS), an AI tool to identify alleged wedding fraud.
The request was closed and USCIS claimed they couldn’t find anything. We appealed.
