This is the sort of deep space imaging I've been looking forward to for most of my life.
These really are amazing images of other star systems with their protoplanetary disks!
I highly recommend reading more at the site linked in this post

I recently visited the ALMA observatory in Chile. While I was poking around the telescopes, ALMA researchers released amazing new views of planet-forming disks around young stars.

These are the most detailed images yet of new solar systems being born. 🧪🔭

ALMA observations reveal that many protoplanetary disks exhibit systematic tilts in their gas, indicating warped structures that could explain inclined planetary orbits. Read more: https://getnews.me/planet-forming-disks-show-warped-structures-new-study-finds/ #protoplanetarydisks #ALMA

Some exoplanets are incredibly young, still in the process of forming within their star's protoplanetary disk. Observing these nascent worlds provides a unique window into the earliest stages of planet formation. #YoungExoplanets #PlanetFormation #ProtoplanetaryDisks

Some exoplanets have been discovered orbiting stars that are so young that their protoplanetary disks—the disks of gas and dust from which planets form—are still present. Studying these systems allows scientists to observe planet formation in action. #ProtoplanetaryDisks #PlanetFormation #YoungSt...
