#Psocoptera
This is a little Psocoptera (Barklice/Plantlice) that I snapped a few weeks back - not quite cicada, not quite treehopper and very tiny #insects #psocoptera #MacroAddicts #australianinsects

Great Excitement!
Well, not so much because of tiny invertebrate blindness - it's not a pretty butterfly but it is the first record for #VC55.
Barkfly, Ectopsocus axillaris.

Two Psocoptera hanging out on a holly leaf. This was a challenging Z stack because I shot it through layers of their silken hideout, causing some fuzziness. Included a wider shot showing their mesh shelter. They're feeding on sooty mold growing from soft scale insect frass.

My morning leaf-litter hunt didn't result in any springtail photographs today, but I did snap this little psocid (barkfly) that was under a Laurel leaf. #psocoptera #Staffs #garden #macro #photography

Another of those small interesting things that turn up on our house wall: Cuneopalpus cyanops, a barkfly often found on conifers. Seems fairly scarce - I can find no Devon records - but as usual with these things probably under recorded.

What do you know about booklice, barklice or barkflies, also known as #Psocodea, part of the biodiversity?
They are small and very cool insects, but hardly anyone are aware them. Here is a female #Mesopsocus immunis.

Another new species for me from yesterday, the surprisingly jazzy #barkfly Stenopsocus stigmaticus, with its neon yellow wing veins, beaten from Hawthorn. #Insect #UKWildlife #Psocoptera

Die ♀️von Mesopsocus immunis/unipunctatus sind im Gegensatz zu den ♂️flügellos. Schade, dass sich die wenigsten die Mühe machen, diese interessanten 3-mm-Tierchen näher anzuschauen.
