did you know project 2025 replaces the workweek with a work month, it’s based on a 40hr workwk premise-160hrs qualifies as FT, basically eliminates OT

manager has my back on things. unprompted she roped me in on her fighting my contractor to make sure we get the year end break week as paid holiday instead of being forced to take our PTO for it. which is really nice

it's not enough to save emails and evidence - you need to send some of that shit to HR to let them know you are *also* tracking performance, PTO requests, accommodation requests, coaching sessions, etc. *and* company RESPONSES to these requests.

Fun fact: I left Amazon over a decade ago because I wanted my career progression to reward me more with additional vacation/PTO/work life balance instead of just more money.

It’s tough, for me it’s been finding good people to work with and taking my pto (which may be unique to my company in that mostly they don’t fight me on it) but also focusing on the fulfillment outside of work as much as possible. But if there’s no way to get that it might be time to bail.

This happened when I was a teacher! My older coworker got pregnant and had no PTO. We all donated ours so she could have maternity leave. I was a 22-year old teacher in a title 1 school. Work has been dystopian my whole life.
