nobody knows how pulseaudio works. you kinda just poke that one til it does the correct thing and then hope it keeps working forever

to be fair the decision between implanting the brain chip that controls my thoughts and desires, and learning how PulseAudio actually works is kinda a tough one

Not as important as Xorg being removed but Pulseaudio was also removed from RHEL 10 in replacement by Pipewire

btrfs snapshots just saved my ass, I did something stupid to pulseaudio and spent like five minutes panicking before realizing I could just reboot and do a nice easy rollback and now everything's fine again #linux

last time I had linux audio problems, the solution was to toggle from "Play HiFi quality Music" to "Pro Audio" and then back

Here’s how audio in Linux works. People used to use JACK and PulseAudio, each had their own advantages and disadvantages. This has largely been replaced by Pipewire which lets you route audio and video (using Gstreamer) streams into each other into a complex but beautiful patch bay.

they didn't work at first but turns out i just needed to install pulseaudio-bluetooth and then they were fine. didn't even need their fuckin app

i did it! here's a sneak peak of how it's all coming together. it's very "non-musical" and simple right now, but it's also all c++, qt, and pulseaudio on a thinkpad thats old enough to drive so we work with what we got :D
