As a bit of a car nerd, I'm curious exactly what this getaway vehicle is too.
You CAN get a surplus cop car, but really any white Ford Explorer could be the base for a passable-enough clone. Throw on graphics, lights, & a pushbar, and most people won't notice if it has alloy wheels instead of steel

I was trying to think of the name of the mechanism on doors where you push to open it, so I google "push bar door" or something. Turns out that is literally called a pushbar. At least there is consistency in the simplicity of door part nomenclature

I have a retired Police Interceptor. I am a little old lady, but the only thing people seem to see is the pushbar, not some old grey haired person driving.
I'm not even trying to be intimidating, but people pull over so I'm not behind them. Or they let me go at stop signs first. Is very weird.

Those are actually not locked even if they close iirc. They close to prevent fire spreading but the pushbar should still allow you to travel towards the direction of the nearest exit.

I realize installing a cable run cover won’t prevent students from brushing along the wall, but maybe it’ll lower the odds of them snagging the elastic string for my doorstop, which both closes the door and catches the cord on the pushbar, stretching and/or tearing it. Fingers crossed!

I realize installing a cable run cover won’t prevent students from brushing along the wall, but maybe it’ll lower the odds of them snagging the elastic string for my doorstop, which both closes the door and catches the cord on the pushbar, stretching and/or tearing it. Fingers crossed!
