Anyway, random half-asleep thoughts about what QQuuuuuuX was trying to say about Newtypes and Tomino Gundam. I feel like Tsurumaki and Anno are too smart to make a tribute show that doesn't also function as a critique. Hope they do some interviews on the subject now that it's done.

I actually really liked Qquuuuuux at first, but I liked the AU story it presented versus the multiverse story it ended up being. The characters ended up just escorting the legacy characters there at the end.

See, I think that creators who grew up with Gundam is the problem with most post-Tomino UC stuff. Unicorn and NT in particular. I like the first half of QQuuuuuuX quite a lot, but it would work so much better as an action-figure mashing show if it had any time to do that.

A lot of the major plot points that happen are only the result of also having major plot holes. There was just no consideration for the OG Gundam besides taking what was cool from it, the characters, and how they might feel about the situation that Qquuuuuux is in.
