#QuantCrit
...helped us learn SO much from this process!

CritQuant is an approach for improving the use of quant methods for understanding social challenges by applying tenets of critical theory/theories. CritQuant is more general than QuantCrit, which centers race & ethnicity more directly. 2/6

My first GRA (now a prof at Depaul) bought me this shirt in 2019 because I would always tell my students numbers are tools not truth. It was quite literally my stats mantra. I say it so often that my research team adopted it as our lab motto. #Numbers4Justice #QuantCrit #CiteBlackWomen

She emailed me after the exchange. Not going to share the entire thing here, but still SMH at "I have always cited in my presentations as a person who was doing [QuantCrit] before the 2018 special issue came out. You have been doing it your whole career and I would never question that."

Just found the slide where Castillo and Strunk use my motto to summarize someone else's QuantCrit Framework. Guess who is no where to be found in their presentation?

"Numbers are tools not truth" is the motto for my lab. I literally branded it. Yet I am not cited in the book being promoted with my tagline. On a subject I have been published on since 2011. #CitationalJustice is #QuantCrit #EduSky #StatsSky #AcademicSky #Blackademics #CiteBlackWomen
