I miss FMV games or even cutscenes. Seems like a waste.

The hopeless and bleak nature of Mechwarrior plus the way the combat and steering of the mechs is so _physical_ is SUCH A VIBE.

Still get chills from the Mercenaries 4 Intro youtu.be/qqzHceaIrsE

This was pretty fuckin' cool growing up! 😀

I am biased though, I spent so many hours playing MW4, especially on-line in one of the roleplay leagues that developed. youtu.be/vZWxgLQZano

I love that.

I have *got* to finish watching that movie. Maybe I'll do that on amtrak today, if I can't sleep. In any case, I *love* mechwarrior, especially when it's cheesy.

The MW4: Vengeance intro sequence helped me fall in love with it all over again in HS:

They had limited torso twist, and drove like tanks.

They were slower, and their primary emphasis was their relationship to the land.

I will always be a FMV proponent because of when I grew up. This doesn’t have the star power of a Tiberian Sun, but man how fun
