#RCV
It’s such a bizarre article. The proponents of RCV are objectively correct that RCV basically solves the problem
November 1, 2026 at 2:22 PM
By recruiting a candidate who's impact is entirely neutralised by RCV, Democrats have shown how RCV is too confusing for voters, who are morons.
November 1, 2026 at 12:54 PM
genuinely one of the reasons they are so opposed to alaska style RCV is that it makes these little ratfucking schemes less effective.
I just want to also say how fucking rich it is for Republicans to claim DECEPTION in Alaska when they create endless hoops to voting at all, and write ballot initiative language that deliberately obfuscates intent.
October 31, 2026 at 3:38 PM
this is just an opinion piece opposing Alaska's RCV system pretending to analyze the impact of the NYT's reporting
November 1, 2026 at 12:55 PM
(Trump campaigning against RCV, Musk spending millions to end RCV)

NYT headline: DID THE PELTOLA CAMPAIGN SEAL THE FATE OF ALASKA’S RANKED CHOICE VOTE?
The Times is straight-up boasting about how it has pushed a false premise so aggressively that people are helpless to debunk it with the facts
November 1, 2026 at 5:04 PM
RCV *eliminates* the effect of (intentional or unintentional) spoiler campaigns.
It is one of the key advantages of RCV.
November 1, 2026 at 2:19 PM
I don’t see how Sullivangate has any impact on RCV, if anything, RCV dilutes the spoiler effect
November 1, 2026 at 4:17 PM
It also wouldn't even matter thanks to Alaska adopting RCV.
October 30, 2026 at 7:42 PM
And beyond all belief, most of the articles didn't mention ranked-choice voting (RCV) at all and the one that explicitly talked about RCV incredibly said it made the confusion issue WORSE! (Many people don't know there is a "b" in "dumb.")
🧐 As of today - @nytimes.com “has now run more than a dozen reports on this matter in just three days.” Meanwhile the NYT “still has not told readers of a new rape allegation against Donald Trump that was made public on Monday …”

coverage aside, this is factually very poor, the NO vote (saving RCV) in Alaska outruns Peltola by a few points.
November 1, 2026 at 3:47 PM
RCV is a solution to this supposed problem!
November 1, 2026 at 1:00 PM
PSA: the MultCo 10pm update will not include RCV election updates. Second report for RCV will be at 12AM
November 3, 2026 at 6:19 PM
I mean: it is very interesting to see the explicit insertion of NYT as a participant in a political argument about RCV like this
The Times is straight-up boasting about how it has pushed a false premise so aggressively that people are helpless to debunk it with the facts
November 1, 2026 at 10:22 PM
Okay, but this is also one of those situations where RCV should be really interesting.
November 3, 2026 at 2:06 AM
This is why we need RCV in state races. And why we all wanted RCV in the first place.
November 2, 2026 at 3:56 PM
RCV 💪
November 3, 2026 at 1:21 AM
Election Day is tomorrow.

Ranked choice voting races in Alaska & Maine could determine control of Congress. There are also 14 cities & counties using RCV, and four RCV ballot measures.

Here's everything you need to know about RCV in the 2026 midterms ⬇️
November 2, 2026 at 1:45 PM
how many anti-RCV referendum have they run in alaska??
November 1, 2026 at 3:49 PM
Ignore polls. Go vote, do GOTV.

Consider this polling miss.

UNH ME-2 May 2026 Dem primary poll:

Poll/first round RCV
Wood, Baldacci, Dunlap

Result/first round RCV
Baldacci, Dunlap, Wood

Now the same pollster has LePage over Dunlap.

5. Ballot measure 2 (repealing RCV) loses.
November 3, 2026 at 6:29 AM
why tf would the Dans Sullivan situation illustrate a flaw with rank-choice voting, and not the opposite?

Under RCV the effect of a spoiler candidate is greatly mitigated
November 1, 2026 at 2:56 PM
Additionally, RCV makes this a complete non issue.
November 1, 2026 at 4:50 PM
You should point out that the critics of RCV are lying.
November 3, 2026 at 2:24 AM
—Alabama: hard to see it flip, but contrast between a GOP justice who voted for "frozen embryos are children" and a Dem challenger who works on assisted reproduction is fascinating

—Alaska: the measure that'd repeal RCV

—Arizona: the secretary of state race bc stakes so stark
November 3, 2026 at 4:00 AM
Yeah this is the exact problem RCV fixes
