The real "lesson" of #MeToo? Accusations of sexual harassment, assault were acceptable so long as it was The Right Kind Of Suspect in terms of ethnicity, religion and/or class. Once accusations flowed against The Wrong Kind Of Suspect, then it was all witch-hunts, man-haters and gold-digging sluts.
also thinking a lot about how #MeToo apparently went too far, when it’s quite obvious now that it didn’t go far enough. it didn’t really go anywhere. there were no lasting consequences of that cultural moment beyond people making jokes about it.
