AND ALSO ban private equity from buying up existing inventory and turning them into rentals/airbnb’s/holding them vacant to increase portfolio value by artificially limiting supply.
The growing unaffordability of housing due to massive under-building is breathtaking.
It now takes an income of $117,000 to afford a median-priced home. Median income is $84,000.
It’s unsustainable. It’s creating instability & empowering political extremists.
WE NEED TO BUILD MANY MORE HOMES.
