Our Fall Matching Challenge is almost over! Our Challenge supports our medical fund and provides wellness checks, sick visits, spay and neuter surgeries, RHDV2 vaccines, and other life-saving care. This year we’ve spent over $15,000 on medical care for foster bunnies, like Lily, Twiggy, and Hannah.

Hoping to get last min prepping done for #Preptober today before I head out to a small Halloween party with new friends! Bit first, taking my foster Lil Grasshopper to the Vet for the RHDV2 vaccination and to make sure things have dropped so he can be neutered #AdoptDontShop #FurAngelsAS

Le RHDV2 a fait chuter la population de lapins à l’Université de Nanaimo de 86 % en <2 mois (2018). La CBC ne précisant pas le génotype dans les TNO, impossible de vérifier la correspondance.

What does a gift to our medical fund actually do? It pays for spay and neuter surgeries. RHDV2 vaccines. Wellness checks and sick visits for rabbits who arrive with nowhere else to go. This year we've spent over $15,000 on that care.

RHDV2 caused an 86% decline of the rabbit population at my home town university in <2 months in 2018. The CBC article doesn’t specify which viral genotype was detected in the NWT, so don't know if it’s the same.

Helping rabbits in their time of greatest need is at the heart of our rescue! This year alone, 52 rabbits have come through Triangle Rabbits’ foster program, and every one of them needed wellness checks, spay/neuter surgeries, and RHDV2 vaccines.

So fun update to this Congratulations to FINNEGAN J. BUNNY for being the FIRST RABBIT IN HISTORY allergic to the RHDV2 VACCINE
Finn’s leg is swollen and the vet’s like “yeah we can see him at 2” which is wonderful but I have to have my tooth glued back in at 4 across town so I had to call and be like do you swear on your *life* that I will be seen at *two pee emmm*

So, even tho earlier than usual (her last molar trim was 4.5 months ago), it was in dire need again. All points were trimmed and teeth checked. He cleaned her ears, did her annual bloodwork, and gave her RHDV2 vaccine (annual due in October)

Wilber got RHDV2 booster today.

Wilber was a champ at the vet. He is so good in medical settings and very tolerant. Doesn’t mind being picked up or held. For rabbits this is awesome! Thanks Wilber!

He’s available for adoption at OurPack.Org

Pygmy rabbit trapping 2026!

Setting before sunset, then we will check for rabbits 2 hours after sunset.
We set 100 traps and may catch 2-5 if we are lucky 🤞

Rabbits will then be weighed, sexed, PIT tagged, and vaccinated against RHDV2 ☺️ 💉

I took my bunnies to get their yearly RHDV2 booster yesterday hosted by the New Mexico House Rabbit Society (newmexicohrs.org) and in front of me in line was an older gentleman with this bumper sticker. He anxiously waited for them to get their shots and was so happy to have them in his sights again

The bun went to the vet today and I elected to give him the RHDV2 vaccine.

I had heard that it might be pricey.

IT WAS $18. Thats like, polio vaccine cheap.

Digby Flopwell got an official diagnosis of Flopping Well at his semi-annual senior wellness checkup. And he got his RHDV2 booster. What a good boy we have. (Yes, that is hay in the picture, as always).

Happy #MicroscopeMonday with a 🐰 liver infected with Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease! RHDV has two virus types of which RHDV2 has spread worldwide through the exchange of pet trade and improperly disinfected equipment. In the name, it causes massive bleeding and tissue death in the 🫁 and liver.
