But Don is the master puppeteer of the whole deal, so it absolutely works.

Also, I really want to see Don dressed like this:

I know it’s still August, but i don’t see any statewide showings of RHPC for Halloween or any other time. There’s possibility the indy place downtown might have it, but no props allowed. Why bother? Sigh. They could charge $50/ticket and, um, clean up if they had the balls. Stoopid Bible belt.

And the older queers just will not accept that rhpc might no longer be relevant
August 29, 2026 at 3:18 PM
Perhaps rhpc is entering the same lineage of important but problematic older works that need to bow out of popular culture

Rhpc was important to me but by the 2000s i didn’t feel as comfortable rewatching it.

Ya all might be older but you have not grown up.
August 28, 2026 at 11:18 AM
Can older queers not get all generational over this? Rhpc was important to probably two generations of queers and also deeply problematic and some of us can experience both reactions at the same time.

That kinda what being queer is - accepting the messy and problematic.

1.
actually hate this shit.

rocky horror is problematic and there’s nothing bad about acknowledging that.

RHPC discourse aside, this fake/“parody” Tim Curry account being so enduringly popular is wild to me
August 28, 2026 at 11:18 AM
Idk, mate, i was finding it problematic when i revisited it in the early 2000s. Being queer means accepting the messy and compromised

Rhpc was important and was problematic- often to the same people

Let’s not get all ‘damn kids’ about this

I dated someone in hs who was obsessed with RHPC and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. And what do you know: (a very on brand) egg
August 28, 2026 at 2:48 AM
Seeing all the "leftist" accounts trying to shit on Dolly/Tim/RHPC is a great way to find out who amongst us is actually an FBI agent

In my mind, Tim Curry's Frank N Furter is the definitive portrayal of Frankenstein. Without RHPC, my own books probably never would have gotten beyond the first chapter, or at the very least they'd be completely different creatures.

I think overexposure to RHPC by overzealous fans made me resent it way more than anything else did tbh
August 27, 2026 at 5:12 PM
The thing is, I hate the people making the assumptions, not the media. I'm just kind of *tired* of the media.

With RHPC, my first exposure to it was a friend hyping it up before we watched it on VHS, and it doesn't hold up in that format.

With drag, well, RuPaul's sins have hurt the entire scene.
August 27, 2026 at 5:06 PM
I only went once to see RHPC at a midnight show but it was super important to many people I grew up with and around
August 27, 2026 at 4:51 PM
RHPC is short for The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
August 27, 2026 at 1:15 PM
Corpo do Tim Curry nem esfriou e ja chegou a galera do actually RHPC é problemático lá no umbral, é por isso que ninguém gosta da gente
August 27, 2026 at 12:06 PM
TC himself admits in an interview that elements of RHPC haven't aged well, but that it is very much a product of its era (and, IMHO, for that era it was very much a fuck you to bigots of all stripes)
August 27, 2026 at 7:01 AM
Am unsure what RHPC is, but I think you're right. If you stay in A (singular here) fandom longer than five years, you'll absolutely see the same discourse repeat... but with the new folks who have joined, oft fueled by the people in the wrong from the previous "feud." 🔽
August 27, 2026 at 5:39 AM
i saw "rhpc" snd i was like "red hot pili cheppers.....?" in my head
August 27, 2026 at 2:49 AM
Versatile actor who could have easily been typecasted after RHPC
August 26, 2026 at 9:52 PM
Did he raise anyone else or just me
August 26, 2026 at 9:24 PM
aw dude :( tim curry was such a strong influence on so many queer ppl I've known. I've met MANY tfems, tmascs, nbs, and everything in between that cited him in rhpc as being an important influence on their identity and expression. I think trans communities as a whole would be different without him

Timeline serendipity.

I drew this a couple years back, it felt fitting to share it again today. RIP Tim Curry. 💔 #TimCurry #RHPC #RockyHorror

The first Tim Curry movie I’ve ever seen and liked was Congo. I didn’t see RHPC until earlier this year
