I’m seriously considering suing the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) for denying me a certificate from the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS UK) simply because I can’t swim.

I’m seriously considering suing the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) for denying me a certificate from the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS UK) simply because I can’t swim.
The revised focal mechanism is RLSS. Wikipedia has a nice map with the fault sections on it and Ray thinks that is was the section that hasn’t ruptured since 1839.

It’s depressing. Living at the coast, I know the vital job our local RNLI & RLSS lifeguards do.
My oldest is a trained lifeguard & was a youth water skills instructor for 6 yrs. They once saved their friend from hypothermia & a young student of their’s saved a friend from drowning. So important.

On the flip side - more than a dozen people died in the water last heatwave, the RLSS is putting out warnings about cold shock. The water is still colder than you think. So take a lot more care than you think you need to if you try get in a body of water.

In 60-70's we were all sent to RLSS courses from about 5 to 16. Pretty sure that's gone by the by.
