It would be entertaining for sure, but almost any of Janet’s post RN1814 singles could drop today and sound fresh.
I don’t find that true for Madge until about “Music” and after.

This is a runaway vote ... in the wrong direction. No matter how much I happen to also like the one which is leading. But RN1814 was more ambitious musically and lyrically, yielded an astonishing *seven* top-5 singles, and some of the best music videos of all time, back when that mattered.

Tricky one - I like what JJ does more but if I want to hear it would I just play Control? Whereas if I want to hear what JC does, this is the one, and "Falling" is the best single track here. Slim margins. Went with RN1814 cos I'm more in that mood but might switch

Easiest vote this week — RN1814, an album I own, was one of my biggest disappointments upon relistening, while IBTABA, which I’d never heard before Round 1, was one of the nicest discoveries, so I voted that.
#RS500 339 Sonically RN1814 is impeccable. Maybe the epitome of glorious Big 80s sound (I'm a sucker for gated reverb). Not all the music lives up to that and the lyrics are hampered by embarrassingly generic gestures at social conscience but the best tracks are truly great. Fave song: Miss You Much

The blockbuster singles on RN1814 are fantastic but I will say that the 12" version of "Eardrum Buzz" is one of my favorite discoveries of the entire tournament. It's a great pop song on a mostly experimental album (and a bonus track at that!).
