#RPAwarenessMonth
I get this a lot. It's usually meant as a compliment. But most #blind people hate this phrase, so unless you know the person well, best not to use it. #RPAwarenessMonth
This week’s Myth Busting Monday tackles the phrase “you don’t look blind.” Sight loss isn’t always visible. RP varies day to day and person to person, and no one should have to “look” a certain way to be believed. Every experience is valid. #RPAwarenessMonth

#nature #trees #blind #photography. One of the few good things about tunnel vision is that I often see things that others don't. Kind of ironic. I'm sure the people walking past seeing me take a photo of this thought I was mad😬 #RPAwarenessMonth

Although I wasn't diagnosed until I was an adult, I now know I had issues as a child and as a teenager, especially night blindness. Just because you know one person with RP does not mean you know all about RP. That includes me! I know my RP.

We’re taking over today for #RPAwarenessMonth! Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a group of inherited retinal conditions causing progressive sight loss. Around 1 in 4,000 people are affected.

Don’t forget to follow @retinauk.bsky.social today as part of RP awareness month!

RP is a progressive inherited retinal condition.
It often begins with difficulty seeing in low light and can gradually affect peripheral vision.
No two people experience RP in the same way.
