Tonight Rte2 10.10PM. My short film "Did you read about Erskine Fogarty" starring Robert Sheehan.
RTÉ’s boycott of this year’s Eurovision goes beyond simply not sending a contestant to Vienna, as the broadcaster will not be showing any of this week’s shows.
Instead, RTÉ2 will broadcast the classic Father Ted episode A Song for Europe during the usual Eurovision timeslot.

RTE2 aired it like once and I managed to get the tape recorder working in time, but I had to stop it just before the final fight because my dad took over the telly, so never knew how it ended for years lol

Jesus. It’s just come back to me. I remember watching this on test screenings of RTE2 before it officially opened later in the year. TWO CHANNELS? Scarcely believable.

learned today that the composer John Barry (who died 15 years ago this week) was born John Barry Prendergast. Apparently his father was a Corkman named John Xavier Prendergast who ended up in Yorkshire in the 1930s at the head of a successful chain of cinemas
