"LONG LASTING" indeed. Been having trouble getting the door off the Graflex Crown Graphic's Rangelite focusing system. Now that I've got it off I'm afraid to mess with these ancient Eveready AA Transistor batteries.

How have they not exploded??

Amazed at the 60 y/o batteries I pulled out of the rangefinder. More amazing? They hadn't exploded or leaked!

Even more amazing? THE LIGHT-GUIDED FOCUSING ACTUALLY WORKS!

The Graflex Crown Graphic in all of its clean, working glory. Does the flash work? I'm not sure. But I don't have a handle for this (yet) so the flash will work for now. 60 year old batteries? No explosion, no leaking. HOW?? After cleaning out the housing a bit, I popped new batteries into it and crossed my fingers - I've only had one other Rangelite rangefinder work in the past. And it didn't work. Worked with it more. Didn't work. After 20 mins I read on the downloaded owners manual that I put the batteries in wrong. Pop them in correctly and PRESTO! These two light spots appear on your target and all you need to do is bring them together for instant focusing. Seriously amazing. Perfect for nighttime / low-light shooting.
