As someone who has wanted to vote via ranked choice voting for many years it was an honor and a pleasure to finally rank my votes here in DC. Everyone should be able to rank their votes. Voting outside of the 2-party system should never help elect the candidate you dislike most.

ALASKA HAS RANKED CHOICE VOTING ANYWAY. There is no spoiler effect in Alaska. All anyone has to do is rank both Dans. That's it. It's only in a state without RCV where Dan 2 would be a potential spoiler candidate.

RCV is the best way to run elections, and I wish they were mandatory across all states. Stops spoiler candidates, and people can select 3rd parties if they want without wasting their vote.

RCV is no different from ranking favorite ice cream flavors. If they try to sneak in a flavor you don't recognize but might be OK, it will still get ranked lower than chocolate and go away unless enough know it and love it.
