While I loved everything I did for RarepairWeek, this one I'm really proud of. I do think there is still a darkness lingering in Shunye after all these years and Uvlo still has things to learn about being in a relationship. I have every confidence in them, though!

Uvlo noticed it in the morning as he and Shunye had their breakfast, the Shetona’s food barely touched. He felt it during their abnormally slow walk towards the Wachumeqimeqi Market. He glimpsed it on his bondmate’s face as they worked, a sullen expression as he filled out orders for clients and wished them well. He heard it in the absence of their idle talk throughout the day. Every time Uvlo tried catching his gaze and offering a smile, the alchemist seemed to be looking elsewhere, lost in his work. While the older leporine was never the most energetic of people, there was a heavy slump to his shoulders, and his stocky ears were sagging. Perhaps he was feeling overwhelmed by the increased business of their shop?

Today's is a little different as I will give you a little scene in my current WIP so this is also my WIP Wednesday post too.
It was quite unreal for Iris. Sure she was was used to being a manor and the Haillenartes themselves were just across the lane. It wasn’t unusual for her to be over at the Fortemps manor to retrieve something for her lords or ladies. However, to be in the halls as a noble lady. One of the servants escorted her to her room. The room was quite warm with the fire place crackling calmly. The flooring was a plush carpet that was soft to the touch and the walls a burgundy that the Fortemps had been know for. The bed, of course, made neatly with a thick comforter. “It is getting late my lady, I do hope your room is to your liking.” Iris nodded to the servant to acknowledge his statement and to dismiss him. “Very well, I will send your ladies in waiting to help you get ready to turn in for the night.” “Wait.” She called out to the servant. He paused waiting to hear what she has to say. “It’s been a long day travelling, do you think I can get some respite out on the gazebo before I turned in for the night?” “Very well my lady. I will let your ladies know that you are getting some fresh air before you want to turn in.” He left her be. Iris headed out of the manor. The brisk winter air and the shining light of the star through the dark skies helped Iris feel alone. The past few weeks had been entering a world she only seen through as a servant. Was she doing this because she wanted to be with Stephanivien or was this so she didn’t get executed from the crimes that she and Lord Francel found themselves in. The sound of a heavy door closed snapped Iris out of her thoughts. It seemed that Stephanivien was leaving his manor. Whatever the reason for him leaving the manor it seemed to be something that took a lot of concentration to seem oblivious to his surrounding. Knowing Stephanvien, she could tell that he wasn’t thinking about some gizmo he was tinkering with at the manufactory. The look that he has reminds her of when he is worrying over someone. She seen it before after Lord Baurendouin decided to put her to work on jobs ill fitted to her skills. She got up from the gazebo and headed his way. “Lord Stephanivien” she called out without thinking. Stephanivien looked up at her changing this expression to a friendly smile. “Lady Cecillia” Iris nearly forgot that she was suppose to be a noble lady when she called out to him. “I’m surprised to see you out and about this late, nothing is a amissed, is it?” He asked. “No. Nothing is amiss. I was a busy day with all the travailing that I figured to get some fresh air before turning in for the night. I just couldn’t help but notice you. You seemed quite down on something.” She wants to comfort him. Oh how she wanted to comfort him but couldn’t give out that Cecillia is Iris. Not yet. “You are too kind Miss Cecillia. It’s nothing.” He tried reassuring her. “It’s-“ he trailed off. “It’s just someone special to me was taken from me. It was at no fault of their own.” He paused for a moment to gather his thoughts. “Why do we have such a stifled system in Ishgard’s nobility? To treat anyone one else less than.” Iris knew where he was coming from. And was he talking about her. He couldn’t be could. “I’m sorry Lady Cecillia, I’m certain that the nobility in Gridania aren’t any better. I don’t want to make you think that Ishgard is all that bad. Just forget that I said anything.”
