The MNT Reform line of laptops are hacker-friendly computers that are designed to be modular, repairable, upgradeable, and customizable. At launch the MNT Reform and MNT Pocket Reform both shipped with NXP i.MX8M series processors, but since the processor is part of a removable module, MNT has also offered other options including modules with Allwinner A311D, Layerscape LS1028A and Broadcomm BCM2711 chips.

due to material cost increases we had to raise the prices of RCORE RK3588 upgrade kits and our laptops (classic) MNT Reform and MNT Pocket Reform today.

Fun fact I was an observer at the RCore sessions at UseR once and a member raised the prospect of removing eval(parse()) since “it was not used by end users” overcome by rising panic I interjected on its behalf. 😱

working on a tricky upside-down solution to integrate 2 extra USB-C ports in MNT Station, so that you can drive 3 displays from it using RCORE RK3588 (1x HDMI + 2x DP). this can also be adapted for the classic MNT Reform

A second session with the new bow. It's... fine? I understand that I'm extremely spoiled, coming to a W&W ATF-DX from a W&W TFT-G... I'm still unsure which I prefer; can't really do an apples-to-apples comparison until my custom RCore grip arrives. There are worse problems to have, I guess. #archery

pcb with 3rd m2 slot for mnt pocket reform with rcore-r2 fits mechanically, so far so good (for pcie+usb wifi/bt)

Took delivery of an RCORE RK3588 module for my mnt reform today, one day earlier than what UPS said(!).
I am pleased to report that surgery was a success and the system is running quite well.
Now to build and install the EDK II UEFI firmware and boot NetBSD!

i just had to bump our rcore/rk3588 related prices (upgrades and laptops) again because the buying price per piece of icore-3588q (rk3588+ram+emmc) just went up another $105 for us from june, where it was bumped up $100 already. so buying price on these increased by $205 in the last 3-4 months

another display grind completed: RCORE RK3588 in MNT Reform can actually drive the laptop's display without the HDMI adapter, through the onboard DSI to eDP converter. i'll also look into whether we can drive the panel via DP directly, but those drivers are still quite new.
