December gave me a lot to think about with @saltermcneil’s excellent Roadmap to Reconciliation 2.0 (no separate review yet because I want to re-read it), The Christian Imagination by Willie James Jennings (posted in my stories but also have to re-read before I have anything slightly smart to say about it), Critical Race Theory (a very readable introduction to the ideas of you want to see what all the fuss is about), The Deeply Transformed Life by @richvillodas which I loved (and also posted a lot about in my stories, but still have to write a separate post after I re-read it), and Rethinking Incarceration by @dominiquedgilliard which is a must-read if you want to learn about the deep-seated issues in our country around criminal justice. The Underneath was a free-to-us book that was surprisingly sad and dark at moments for a kids book but also kept me riveted. Dear Mr. Knightley (@katherinereay) was one of my companions during a night of insomnia, and The Treasure Principle was a quick re-read and good reminder to be generous with the things we can’t keep when we die. I’ve actually taken a break this latter half of my vacation from reading to clean, so my page count is lower than it might have been 😂😂 but now that the office is in order, I’m ready to start 2021 strong! #corriereads".
