The King's Ransom was an arcade adventure game due for release on the #Amiga and #PC by ReadySoft in 1993. Featuring 2500 frames of animation and over 150 locations to explore. Previewed by many magazines, disappeared without a trace. Where did it go? gamesthatwerent.com/2024/02/the-...
The King's Ransom (Commodore Amiga and PC) - Games That Weren't
Following on from Wrath of the Demon was a new title from ReadySoft called The King's Ransom, with the same level of detailed animations, but a bit more in the way of interactions and inventory. The g...

Stéphane Leblanc's name is in the Wrath of the Demon prototype, so this was probably from ReadySoft.

Thanks for the heads up Damiano. First I've seen of this one, but it reminded me of: www.gamesthatwerent.com/2024/02/the-... (of course a completely different game).

Possible the name isn't quite right (temp) ? I'll make a note to create an archive entry in the new year to help with any search.

In the early years of high school, I worked at a Toronto Commodore dealer, Richvale Telecommunications (in reality a TV repair store larping as a PC sweatshop) with David Foster of ReadySoft fame, before he was famous.

In 1994, two UK developers were working on games both titled "Powerslide."

Elite Systems worked on a Super FX sim with flat polygons (and trippy colors).

Readysoft had a 3D Rally racing game with textured polygons for the PC.

Both were unreleased.

Whilst most Readysoft games usually traded gameplay for visuals you couldn't help but want to give them chances to balance things out like say the Shadow of the Beast series did when they could come up with stunners like this!🤔
