I keep watching those realrealJapan shorts and is Japanese similar to Hawaiian in that they use a lot of hidden, double layered meanings in their writings/orations because of all the words that have multiple meanings? Or is the functionality still very different?

RealRealJapan has silly shorts about the dumb things in Japanese. Can't say English is much better, but it's fun to hear other broken language rules.

A Ponzi is wildly & immediately unstable. A pension program isn't. How will you ever identify Ponzi-like faults in a business plan if you don't really understand what those are?

Really small point: there's a throwaway line "Katz is a linguist, not a scientist" but linguistics is the science of language! I'm learning alot following ProfWoodyMrFord on yt for example.
(but I also follow RealRealJapan so 🤷)

I don’t know if anyone else has seen these guys. But realrealjapan has taken over my YouTube shorts. I never clicked on any until last month. That was a mistake. But those two guys are very funny. I can take a little short scrolling to see them
