Yup & becoming a very real problem now as well
The munitions shortfall we're already tempting w/ the first wave of Epic Fury alone & subsequent closure of Hormuz is devestating in that there are no base materials to craft rearmaments.
Israel being a sunk cost on top of that is too much weight imo

The biggest peacetime rearmaments expenditure in French history was the Popular Front's arrival in power in 1936! You actually *can* have guns and butter, but it involves fiscal politics that are anathema to centrists.

45 is playing with fire and WWIII by spreading doubt about NATO and it’s Art. V. The Cold War worked despite rearmaments. Not by cozying up to Russia. Russia is seeing us as weak now & as an unreliable partner to our allies and this will likely entice Putin to try and invade another European country

Russia is seeing us as weak now & as an unreliable partner to our allies and this will likely entice Putin to try and invade another European country
I wish the decision was that easy.
I can either vote for a party that is anti-russian but also pretty meh on our own defense and rearmaments, or I can vote for a major party whose leadership is anti-russian but has small but noticeable "business as usual" wing willing to deal with them.

Golden opportunity for KS to reset a number of issues and blame Trump. A "Trump Tax" for rearmaments and infrastructural projects gets him out of a huge self built hole. It's a politics he's not capable of unfortunately. It's actually part of the Labour manifesto ie Change!!

Krupp not only started rearmaments in the early 20s and was responsible for the Wehrmacht being in a position to attack but also was one of the earliest major contributors to the Nazis and helped keep the party afloat.

Unfortunately whilst I agree with some of your sentiments, this is a US problem. We have to insulate Europe & Canada. As Brexit is a UK problem, on we can solve. Govts for 40 years have pulled the wool over our eyes re rearmaments etc. They have failed in their basic duty to Defend the Realm.
