I wanna be a short fat slut but i hate doing the same shit forever i am a person who evolves but cartoon designs are all abt simplicity and recognizeability, overcomplicating the issue will only ruin the spirit of the whole damn thing ugh

Some people who seek out cozy (or any) games attach themselves to predictability and recognizeability as comfort, and so whenever something messes with their view of the game or the community around it they feel that their comfort, and by extension themselves, is threatened. It's dumb as fuck lol

One of my frustrations with newbie 3d modellers is their tendency to just add geo to have smoother details when every fiber of my body says 'every loop or vertex point is a chance to add subtle outline recognizeability'

I keep thinking about bartok the magnificent

Like

The only thing rly holding the movie back imo is bartok, like it feels as though the main character was meant to be someone else and they just slapped him in there for recognizeability

The songs slap the characters are fun.... love dis dum thing..

Lmao it is. Astonished but happy I achieved at least baseline recognizeability.

BUSHI has been a lowmidcarder for years and has a restaurant. I think he remains in Japan freelancing around to win some titles based on recognizeability

12/17 it's impressive how quickly it loses recognizeability once you remove the outer borders
tweezers got a very good workout on that lot.

It's rather that an obvious factor is to keep the recognizeability of the characters, and i've always struggled making anime characters look recognizable enough. Usually had people ask me who i'm drawing cause it's hard to tell based off a face, since my artstyle is very different

Originally I was thinking about making him 100% not blocky, hence the Ender Pearl embedded into the top of his head but decided to change his head to a more familiar shape for better recognizeability.

Personally I like when artist takes bit of a gamble when translating anime faces to something different.
Good part with iconic designs like F/SN is that the hair and outfit will carry recognizeability while giving more freedom to translate what the characters face would look artist mind.

I don't think it's quite as binary as that. Players have design preferences, sometimes design prejudices, but engagement with games is driven first by recognizeability. And this is true in design communities as well. Stuff gets niche popular for the same reasons it gets regular popular.

The best approach to this is just to pick a familiar brand, hide under it, and use its recognizeability to try and sell stuff.

I very clearly cannot brand-build myself. I made it into a full zero of those bluesky starter packs.

Sacrificing recognizeability with my icon for Princess Time this week, Wraith my beloved underrated skelly gf ♡♡♡
