i've had trouble finding a digitized version of Redstockings' original 1975 dossier on gloria steinem and the CIA, so i made one myself. it's a fascinating read, and includes reproductions of the key source materials.

i have a copy of the 1975 Redstockings exposé of the CIA project that gave steinem her start in politics & publishing; i'll try to scan it and put it on my website this week. but the tl;dr is: it's neither minor nor insignificant, and it's right in line with the whole career she built on it.

Gäller hålla två tankar i huvudet här, Redstockings var ju just feminister och kämpade mot koopteringen. Steinem var ingen vänsterfigur i övrigt heller, hon är någon som vänsterfeminister borde ha lätt att distansera sig från.

Gloria Steinems död kom ju med perfekt tajming för nystalismen. Där har de sitt pedagogiska exempel att spinna på om CIA, feminism och "imperialistvänstern". Redstockings klassiska gräv dras fram igen.
