Since Sep of last year, virtually every unmanned aircraft in US airspace is required to broadcast RemoteID: coord/altitude of the operator, coord/altitude/groundspeed of the drone, registration, etc.
FAA could clear this up instantly.

Drone violators are found ALL THE TIME. In the US they’re required to have RemoteID which transmits real-time identifier data and coordinates #ufosky

ALLE #droneoperatører er allerede registreret, det er vores droner med #RemoteID også, så ALLE vores flyvedata kan blive sporet til mindste detalje!

DroneScout has their own app (which is quite good), but it works with any RemoteID receiver app. It works with both iOS and Android (but is a bit limited with iOS).

I have no idea how remoteID works with a standard receiver. I could take a look tomorrow online. I just run the standard 1080 dump for adsbx and a few others. From what I've seen the standard remoteID with apps just looks at bluetooth. It wont work on my iPhone because its looking for wifi

The rumour mill is that UK 🇬🇧 #RID/#RemoteID for drones isn't being funded as the DfT had wanted.
That's a good thing as it was likely to be a system where costs spiralled & there's no robust security case & lots of privacy issues.

Download Flightradar24 app, it will tell you if an aircraft is near you, with altitude and tail #. Also try Drone Scanner which scans for RemoteID# via Bluetooth. All legal large drones will have RemoteID. (Small toy drones won’t have it) If it isn’t one of these you have an illegal aircraft
