Sparky Linux 7.8 aktualisiert Startmedien - LinuxCommunity
Für das auf Debian basierende Sparky Linux stehen aufgefrischte Startmedien bereit. Die wiederum bringen durchweg nur aktualisierte Pakete mit. Eine gute Nachricht gibt es dennoch für GIMP-Anwender. Zunächst haben die Entwickler ein Problem mit den Debian Mulitmedia-Repostories behoben. Ein dabei auftretender Konflikt blockierte die Installation von einigen Paketen. Davon betroffen war beispielsweise die Bildbearbeitung GIMP. Wer auf das Problem gestoßen ist, kann es schnell manuell lösen. Dazu muss man lediglich die Bibliothek „libavutil57“ mitsamt ihren Abhängigkeiten de- und dann wieder neu installieren. Apropos GIMP: Das ist jetzt standardmäßig im Live-System verfügbar. Darüber hinaus gibt es dort unter anderem jetzt den Kernel 6.1.140-LTS, LibreOffice 7.4.7 und Firefox 128.12.0 ESR. Sparky Linux 7.8 gibt es allerdings nur für 64- und 32-Bit-Rechner mit x86-Prozessor. Wer ein ARM-System verwendet, muss weiterhin zu den Startmedien in der Version 7.7 greifen. In jedem Fall aktualisiert sich ein installiertes Sparky automatisch auf den Stand der Version 7.8. Nutzer eines bestehenden Systems müssen folglich die Startmedien nicht (erneut) herunterladen.
